Mechanic - Truck/Trailer, Salt Lake City, Utah

We value our Alpha mechanics, who are responsible for maintaining Alpha Transport equipment in a safe and cost efficient manner. Mechanics are responsible for performing routine maintenance, servicing, and repairing of Alpha Transport trailers, chassis and other equipment. Must be able to complete all fleet maintenance processes and ensure that units meet Alpha Transport specifications at all times.

Responsibilities:

• Bumper-to-bumper preventive maintenance service and/or repair to tractor and trailer
• Preventive maintenance inspection
• Electrical troubleshooting
• Brake system repair
• Tire maintenance
• Minor diesel engine repair
• Tire & Wheel, Heavy Duty Brake System
• Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned

• Be 18 years of age
• Have a valid driver's license
• Clean driving record
• Basic computer skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

• Minimum 2 years experience in truck and trailer maintenance
• DOT certified in FHWA Inspection & Air Brakes
• Welding experience
