Position Description: The CAD Designer is responsible for the preparation and production of boundary, topographic and physical feature location survey plans, subdivision plans, and land preservation surveys.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities: • Analyze and interpret complex data • Perform advanced math calculations • Prepare boundary, topographic, as-built and other types of survey plans • Create surfaces and produce elevation contours for topographic surveys • Prepare metes and bounds descriptions, description exhibits, as-built record drawings, etc. • Report pertinent progress information to Project Manager and/or Surveying Services Manager
Essential Qualifications: • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent • 5+ years of drafting/design experience in land surveying
Desired Qualifications: • Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Drafting and Design Technology
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Organized and detail oriented with proactive approach to work responsibilities • Exceptional oral and written communication skills including the ability to compose letters, transmittals and complex reports • Ability to interact with other professionals and public officials • Demonstrates the highest degree of ethical behavior and honesty • Ability to work independently or as part of a project team • Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate with others to explore alternative solutions • Familiarity with the technical basics of land surveying, as well as with a variety of the commonly used principles, practices and procedures of land surveying projects • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD (preferably Civil 3D) • Ability to understand field notes/data, plotting deeds and easements, and point management
• Essential Position Requirements: • Occasional regional travel required • Ability to work additional and/or nonstandard office hours, as required
