Supervising Clinical Laboratory Technologist

$66,852 - $87,264 annually

Are you passionate about science and health care? California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking experienced laboratory technologists, like you, to provide technical direction, guidance, and supervision to clinical laboratory staff in our correctional system. Here, in a multidisciplinary setting, your knowledge and skills will contribute greatly to the diagnosis and treatment of the diverse patient population in our care.

In this key position, you will:

  • Assign, direct, and check the work of lower level laboratory staff; instruct staff on laboratory principles and practices; evaluate laboratory staff work and take corrective action as needed
  • Evaluate new laboratory techniques and procedures; draft new and update existing technical procedures
  • Direct the tabulating and recording of tests

The ideal candidate will possess a valid California State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license or a license of equal or higher level issued by the State Department of Health Services and at least three years of experience in comprehensive clinical laboratory work that involved making laboratory analyses.

Effective July 1, 2020, in response to the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Personal Leave Program 2020 (PLP 2020) was implemented. PLP 2020 requires that each full-time employee receive a 9.23 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 16 hours PLP 2020 leave credits monthly through June 2022.
