The Community Planning and Development agency (CPD) is seeking two highly motivated individuals to join our Customer Service, Administrative Support, and Records team as a full-time Administrative Support Assistant IV.

As part of the Administrative Support team you will provide technical and operational support to the public, internal staff members, other city departments/agencies while maintaining a working knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, standards and procedures.

Key responsibilities may include:
  • Interacting with customers via phone, email and in person
  • Researching permit related issues
  • Scheduling inspections and communicating cancelations to Inspectors
  • Receiving BID and ZNIS complaints and provide status updates to the public
  • Compiling zoning and neighborhood inspection hearing files
  • Creating digital records for Certificates of Occupancy, demolition affidavits, graffiti authorizations, etc.
  • Processing, scanning, and mailing:
    • Administrative citations issued by Inspectors
    • Emergency board-ups
    • Property abatement
    • Cease and Desist orders
    • Orders to comply
    • Change of Address and/or permit cancellation forms
    • Demolition affidavits
    • Meter releases
    • After hours inspections
  • Providing continuous support at the reception desk
  • Maintaining two Inspection Services general inquiry email boxes, and six voicemail boxes
  • Logging city owned vehicle use by NIS Inspectors
  • Responding to Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) requests
  • Providing general office support such as maintaining office supplies, collecting and distributing mail, updating and distributing department forms and documents, etc.


Work schedule will be Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

These positions work very closely and frequently with our external customers, our ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Additionally, our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiar with the following software programs: Salesforce, Alfresco Document Management, Accela Permit Tracking System, and Cisco

  • Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate
  • Experience: Three (3) years of full performance office support/clerical work (type and level of an Administrative Support Assistant III)

  • Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
