Essential Duties

Main areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
  • Conducts professional level confidential activities related to area of assignment, which may include: performing job analysis; serving as a technical advisor; conducting reference checks; making job offers; participating in the development of programmatic strategies; developing workforce plans; assessing training needs; assisting in the administration of the City's employee personnel records.
  • Reviews a variety of forms and documents for technical completeness and accuracy; enters data from documents into applicable spreadsheets or databases; identifies and corrects errors to meet established policies and procedures; advises and consults with other departments on status and accuracy of information contained on forms; maintains applicable records.
  • Creating, researching and distributing a variety of published information, which may include brochures, job announcements, Citywide email communication, reports and/or other related information.
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public and others.


Minimum Qualifications

Sufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge and skills, which would typically be acquired through:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, or a related field and five years of professional level human resources experience in assigned area of responsibility; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Licensing Requirements:
  • Possession of a valid California Drivers' License
