Department Overview

The Accounting Department produces monthly financial statements and variance analysis. Major activities include: maintaining financial statements with generally accepted accounting principles, monthly posting of operations performance, reconciling general ledger accounts, fixed asset reporting and capital spending tracking, managing the annual financial audit, completing external requests for information, and reporting structure and system maintenance.

Location: Position is hybrid & will require in-office work at our Business Campus 1 day-a week

Position Summary

The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for analyzing, coding, and processing 1000+ invoices and payment requests monthly, timely and with a high rate of accuracy. This position is also responsible for identifying and defining process improvements, administering the online payment request and employee reimbursement process, and for training and mentoring other Accounts Payable Specialists.

License/Certification/Registration required? N/A

Education:
* 2 year Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
* 5+ years of high volume Accounts Payable processing experience.
* 2 year Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
* Solid base understanding of accounting principles, PeopleSoft system, and accounts payable processes, and windows environment.
* Ability to professionally communicate both written and orally, with all levels of staff, externally and internally.
* Ability to develop training materials and training of employees in Accounts Payable.
* Ability to develop training materials and administer training to end users for the online payment request and employee reimbursements process.
* Ability to independently solve problems related to operations, using analytic problem solving techniques leading to appropriate solutions.
* Ability to meet deadline.
* Quick learner, open to change, solution focused, collaborative, and driven.
