We are seeking to place an Environmental Scientist/Engineer with environmental restoration and remediation experience to provide on-site program and project management support for the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) organization, located at Joint Base San Antonio, TX.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Preparation of statements of work, cost estimates, and other items as part of the acquisition process.
- Assist the government with the administration and management of performance-based remediation contracts.
- Review of contractor-generated technical documents, field oversight of contractor activities.
- Track schedules and funds, and projecting costs of forecasted remediation efforts.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental engineering, sciences, or other related area.
- 10 years of experience in compliance and/or restoration (Environmental Engineer, Chemist, Hydrogeologist, Geologist, or Environmental Scientist).
- Experience working on DoD environmental programs/projects.
- Professional environmental registration or certification a plus.
- Air Force experience, and/or previous work with petroleum, oil and lubricants (POL) a plus.
- Working knowledge of environmental compliance, remediation, regulations, and regulatory agencies.
- Individuals already possessing an adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) are preferred.
- Ability to successfully pass a federal agency background check is required.
- Possess a working knowledge of other Federal environmental statutes and State-specific regulations such as each State Environmental Protection Act and the State Administrative Code, local regulations and statutes, as well as AF and/or DoD environmental regulations and documentation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and proficiency with MS Office applications (Word and Excel) is required.
