Job Summary

The Manager of Transportation Solutions provides operational support and guidance to the US Automotive business unit. Activities will include business case development for new transportation and private fleet management capabilities, scoping and implementation of enterprise transportation systems (TMS), and advancement of supply chain reporting and analytics practices. This position acts as a subject matter expert for all modes of domestic transportation and aims to deliver value to Genuine Parts Company by increasing control, improving service, and reducing cost for domestic freight flow.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with other departments such as merchandising, IT, and supply chain operations to develop transportation strategies and ensure they align with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Implement solutions to increase transportation control, improve service levels, and reduce supply chain cost.
  • Partner with IT to develop transportation business intelligence capabilities using Google Big Query and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Manage and communicate project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to leadership and stakeholders.


Qualifications
  • 5+ years of combined experience in Transportation and Supply Chain Management.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Direct experience with retail supply chain strategy and business case development, including cost-benefit analyses and process optimization.
  • Direct experience with selection and implementation of enterprise transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Direct experience with development of supply chain business intelligence capabilities.
  • Direct experience and success with multi-year program or project management.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Transportation preferred.
  • Knowledge of private fleet operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of Google Big Query and Microsoft Power BI capabilities preferred.
