SUMMARY

Senior Planner is responsible for the execution of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) by developing and driving detailed production schedules based on the MPS, demand forecasts, capacity constraints, as well as internal and external lead times. Responsible for monitoring production activities in real-time to ensure adherence to the production schedules in support of customer commitments and revenue goals. Help foster better communication between different departments across the business to resolve issues and minimize disruptions to the production build plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provide expertise and tactical leadership throughout Operations and within the Production Planning and Production Control process. Evaluate opportunities to improve this process and further optimize Comtech’s business processes related to planning/scheduling, and procurement.

• Responsible for executing the Master Production Schedule while ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of labor and resources.

• Monitor production performance to plan in real-time to ensure adherence to goal. Address any deviations from the plan promptly and work with the responsible teams to resolve gaps and recover schedule. Communicate production performance to plan effectively to all stakeholders.

• Assess work center capacity against load. Optimize resource allocation to maximize production output. Identify and communicate overload scenarios to the appropriate stakeholders and help to resolve gaps and recover the schedule.

• Coordinate with supply chain and inventory management teams to ensure material is available to support build plan. Identify supply chain risks and work closely with Procurement and Sourcing leads to proactively eliminate them.

• Maintain real-time tracker detailing order fulfillment performance including relevant recovery plans.

COMPETENCIES

• Enterprise Resource Planning in a Manufacturing setting
• Material Requirements Planning
• Capacity Planning
• Configuration Management processes, including ECO & ECI process flow into production BOM in ERP tool
• The ability to review and understand Complex, multilevel Indented Bills of Material.
• Excellent communication skills are required to perform this job successfully.
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills are critical in this position.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

3-5 years Planning experience using MRP system preferred.

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience in an electronics manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

APICS Certification desired.
