Description

Mayvin is currently seeking an energetic and motivated expert to join our team as the Director of Human Resources. The applicant will serve as a technical expert and focal point on a wide variety of human resources areas for employees, managers, and executive leadership. The Director of Human Resource must be an expert in the application of full cycle human resources processes and highly proficient with labor legislation and compliance. The applicant must be a resident expert in advice and counsel to the CEO on all employee relations. An industry recognized Subject Matter Expert.

Must be a US citizen.

WORK LOCATION Alexandria VA / In corporate office

Must be SHRM-SCP certified.

Must submit to a background investigation, drug screening, and possess a government Secret clearance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Administers/oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave administration, disciplinary actions, disputes and investigations, conflict resolution, performance, and talent management; recognition and employee engagements; occupational health and safety; training and professional development.
  • Manage a team of HR professionals while developing training and curriculum for continued career growth.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Manage training program which includes developing training content, distributing, tracking, and maintaining required training reports.
  • A firm understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and how its applied to Human Resource’s
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Responsible and accountable for compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Provide expert guidance and management of Service Contract Act (SCA) covered employees to meet state and local requirements.
  • Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreements and employee relations
  • Oversees onboarding functions for new employees to include the completion of new hire orientation, health, and welfare plans, including benefit enrollments and changes.
  • Leads corporate engagement to include event planning, charity initiatives, quarterly newsletter, employee feedback, etc.
  • Collaborate with Executive Leadership on all benefits and negotiations, works with benefit brokers and vendors on benefit plans and open enrollment.
  • Works directly with the Executive team on industry trends, company vision and emerging tasks
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Required

  • BS/BA degree in relevant field of study.
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)
  • Ten (10) years of Human Resources experience supporting a Government Contracting customer.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years' experience leading/supervising a team in Human Resources reflected on resume and verifiable.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS systems.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree
