JOB SUMMARY
Characteristics of the Class:
Operates press as needed, plate lift, align and lay-up the treated decorative and core material under direction of the
QCP Press Operator/Foreman. Performs other tasks as needed.
ESSENTAIL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs all duties and responsibilities listed for pressing Level I and Level II.
2. Understands QCP Press function and process flow.
3. Performs the back-up operator role and have the ability to troubleshoot machine as issues arise.
4. Performs material handler duties and be proficient on the lift equipment.
5. Trains other team members on the process.
6. Identify different plate finishes and the patterns produced on each finish.
7. Insures all material is present for the production process and inspects to department quality standards.
8. Logs production information such as: material produced, type, size, run, control settings, etc. in the absence of the press operator.
9. Performs lock-out/tag-out procedures and preventative maintenance checks.
10. Regular attendance required.
Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules and regulations governing work standards.
Knowledge of Pressing manufacturing process and component material utilized.
Knowledge of basic mathematics sufficient to add and subtract.
Skill in hand and eye coordination.
Ability to identify patterns and finishes
Ability to identify colors and shades.
Ability to operate multiple presses.
Ability to understand and follow directions.
Ability to accurately record information on production schedules/logs.
Ability to accurately input data into computer system.
Ability to work independently without close supervision and as a team member.
Ability to interpret dials graphs, charts, etc.
Ability to visually detect product imperfections and defects.
Ability to communicate well in oral and written form at all levels of the organization.
Ability to make decisions in a leaders role.
Ability to read and understand the ISO Procedures
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
High School Graduate or GED
EXPERIENCE:
One year of work experience. (Pressing experience preferred)
WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy work - Tasks involve pushing/pulling, lifting and standing or using force equal to handling materials or 50 to 100 pounds.
ENVIRONMENT:
Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
