The English and Humanities Department at Alfred State invites applications for a full-time, temporary lecturer in Communication and Public Speaking. This position supports our new Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication and Emergent Media and the department's role in the general education curriculum. Teaching responsibilities include 15 credits per semester in first-year Public Speaking and both lower- and upper-level communication courses. We welcome additional specialization in technical communication, intercultural communication, or media communication. Candidates with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and experience mentoring underrepresented students are encouraged to apply. The position begins Fall 2024.

Job Requirements:
  • A Master's degree in Communication, Rhetoric and Composition, or a related field at the time of appointment is required.
  • A Ph.D. in Communication, Rhetoric and Composition, or a related field is preferred.
