Description

MELE requires an exceptional candidate to fill a Standards Specialist role to support the Nuclear Emergency Support Team (NEST) Standards and Training Program (NSTP). The Standards Specialist is a pivotal role within our government training program, responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and compliance of training materials, processes, and assessments with established standards and regulations. The incumbent will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and program managers to maintain and enhance the integrity of our training programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assessing training programs, validation metrics, and quality assurance. Familiarity with ISO standards and prior experience with the Department of Energy is highly preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Standards Compliance: Ensure that all training materials, including curriculum, assessments, and resources, adhere to relevant government standards, policies, and regulations. Continuously monitor changes in standards and update materials accordingly.

Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of training materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and effectiveness in meeting learning objectives. Provide constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement to content developers and instructional designers.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of standards, guidelines, and procedures related to training development and delivery. Generate regular reports on compliance status, identifying areas of strength and improvement.

Training Development Support: Collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers to develop training materials that align with established standards. Offer guidance on best practices for instructional design and content development to ensure compliance and effectiveness.

Training Delivery Support: Assist in the implementation and delivery of training programs, including providing guidance to trainers on adhering to standards and facilitating effective learning experiences for participants.

Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in training and standards compliance. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the quality and efficiency of training programs through process improvements and innovation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Training Development, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing and/or delivering training programs, with a focus on standards compliance and quality assurance.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a DOE Q clearance.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant government standards, regulations, and policies pertaining to training and education programs.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to critically evaluate training materials for compliance and effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications for document management and reporting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification in instructional design, quality assurance, or related field
  • Prior experience with the Department of Energy
  • Active Q Clearance

LOCATION: This is a full-time onsite position in Albuquerque, NM.

SALARY: Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
