The University of Pittsburgh Department of Anesthesiology serves one of the nation's largest integrated delivery systems and is actively recruiting a Visiting Scholar to participate in the clinical activities within the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).

The purpose and responsibilities will focus on Clinical Research activities within the Department of Anesthesiology’s Acute Pain Research Program which include facilitating several research projects in the department, including data collection, analysis, report generation, attending meetings, and paper writing.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • A hands-on approach to interacting with study participants and health professionals in the clinical research setting with exposure to many surgical specialties
  • Collaboration with faculty investigators in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine
  • Conduction of Data analysis and manuscript development for a research project
  • The ability to work with a highly productive team is critical to the success of this position
  • Facilitate several research projects
  • Report generation
  • Attending meetings
  • Paper writing

Requirements: Candidates should possess an M.D. or Ph.D. degree. He/she should have the ability to work collaboratively and be interested in working with individuals from many different backgrounds including clinicians and basic scientists.

Candidates should also have a good command of the English Language and evidence of good writing and interpersonal skills.
