Summary: We have an opening for an Inventory Control Clerk on first shift. We are looking for a responsible, self-driven person to fill this non-exempt position.

Qualified candidates need to be organized, thorough and is required to maintain their individual productivity rates while always striving to gain additional department knowledge to enhance their own skills
and contribute to Viking Drill & Tool.

Pay Range: $25 - $27 per hour

Benefits: eligible after working 1000 hours in a fiscal year.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assist Purchasing Manager in MRO purchasing, while coordinating with the Tool Crib Specialist.
  • Inventory Control Tool crib areas (Maintenance & Set-up parts)
  • Conduct cycle counts as required. (Envelopes, Tubes, Grinding wheels, Etc.)
  • Direct receiving clerks in absence of Purchasing Manager.
  • Research commodities and get quotes from vendors.
  • Help Purchasing Manager budget spending.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Keep accurate inventory records.
  • Watch for inventory spikes.
  • Enter grinding wheel tests results into system. Following up with operators and vendors,
  • Match receivers to packing slips. (Account for all paperwork)
  • Assist accounting with month end paperwork, matching invoices with receivers.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Work with ePMX ordering software and AutoCrib software.
  • Maintain flow of work to prevent lack of or excessive accumulation of material in work and staging areas and to maximize operation efficiency.
  • Good judgment, accuracy, ability to follow procedures and sense of urgency, a must.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to receive, analyze and resolve recurring problems.
  • Coordinates with the Purchasing Manager on any shipments or order problems.
  • Work with shipping companies to ship or have supplies delivered.
  • Must be proficient in operating a forklift.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2 years of related experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities to see up close and fine detail.
