The Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a position at the Assistant to Advanced-Assistant Professor level in the area of Biological and Health Psychology, pending budgetary approval, to begin Fall of 2024. The Biological and Health Psychology Program is a premier research and training program emphasizing multilevel, multidisciplinary, and mechanistic approaches to understanding behavioral contributions to chronic disease, health behaviors, and well-being throughout the lifespan. We are seeking candidates with core training in Health Psychology or an allied discipline whose research uses clinical and epidemiological methods to improve understanding of how to promote maternal health. Candidates who use mixed methods research and are engaged in community-based research as especially encouraged to apply.

The Psychology Department is committed to excellence in research and in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Its tenure-stream faculty offers five graduate training programs: Biological and Health, Clinical, Cognitive, Developmental, and Social, along with cross-program training opportunities. The interdisciplinary nature of psychological science is reflected in both faculty research interests and collaborations and training options afforded to graduate students.
