As an Aggregate Production Intern, you will work closely with our Aggregate Division to support various aspects of aggregate production processes. This internship is designed to provide exposure to activities such as mining operations, material processing, quality control, and overall operational efficiency in the aggregate production sector. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hands-on work, a keen interest in the aggregates industry, and a willingness to learn and contribute to the production operations of our company.

Responsible For:

  1. Mining Operations:
    • Assist in various aspects of mining operations, procurement, extraction, and reclamation.
    • Learn and follow safety protocols and guidelines for mining activities.
  2. Material Processing:
    • Support material processing activities such as crushing, screening, and washing.
    • Contribute to ensuring the quality and consistency of processed aggregates.
  3. Quality Control:
    • Assist in quality control processes to meet established specifications for aggregates.
    • Participate in tests and inspections to maintain high-quality standards.
  4. Equipment Operation:
    • Learn to operate and maintain various equipment used in aggregate production.
    • Contribute to troubleshooting and resolving minor equipment issues.
  5. Operational Efficiency:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives.
    • Learn to optimize sequences for production effectiveness.

What we are looking for:

  • Currently enrolled in the Concrete Industry Management Program at South Dakota State University
  • Strong interest in the aggregates industry and hands-on work.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to the demands of various production processes.
