Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) - Fire Protection and Safety Advisor to join our Team!


The ideal candidate will provide expert guidance and consultation to game and simulation developers to create virtual training tools to teach fire prevention, protection, safety practices, and use of Fire Extinguishers incorporating NFPA guidelines and recommendations.



Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on fire protection and safety measures to organizations.
  • Assist in the development of training programs, workshops, and educational materials to increase awareness and understanding of fire safety practices and NFPA codes.
  • Assist in the development of training programs, workshops, and educational materials on emergency response plans, and mitigation measures to enhance safety and resilience.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance, resources, and tools to support the implementation of fire protection systems, equipment, and technologies.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in fire protection and safety.
  • Provide expertise on the use of fire extinguishers (e.g., ABC, Type K for kitchens, Halotron (Electronics, Data, and Operating room), and Water Mist (MRI).


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in fire protection engineering, fire science, safety engineering, or a related field or 5 years of experience in fire protection, safety management, emergency preparedness, or related roles, with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • In-depth understanding of NFPA codes, standards, and regulations, as well as industry best practices in fire protection and safety.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • Professional certification in fire protection, safety management, or related areas is desirable (e.g., Certified Fire Protection Specialist).
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and fire protection software tools.
