Position Summary:

The person in this individual contributor role is responsible for sales growth of robotic and other automation solutions for RG Group. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop new business within the robotic arm technology segment. Industrial and collaborative arms, intelligent vision systems and other ancillary technologies will serve as the focus of our solutions. Target applications include palletizing, depalletizing, case packing, truck load/unload and others. In addition, this position will be responsible for qualifying and pursuing other types of automation projects that are identified during prospecting efforts.

Essential Functions:

  • Establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers to generate new business for the organization
  • Makes telephone calls, conducts virtual meetings and in-person visits and presentations to decision makers
  • Prospecting as part of the regular routine ensuring that new prospects are consistently being contacted and added to sales database
  • Works with the marketing team to develop effective lead generation campaigns for the robot arm technology segment
  • Conducts prompt follow-up of inquiries and leads
  • Appropriate and effective communication including, but not limited to weekly reports, customer call reports via CRM, expense reports, sales forecast, and market intelligence reports
  • Stays abreast of current marketplace dynamics including technology trends, competitive analysis and industry news

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude. You can grasp complex problems in a way that earns credibility with both engineers and business leaders
  • Uses business acumen to understand operational and financial drivers of automation projects
  • Ability to effectively establish and build rapport with customers
  • Possesses effective questioning & listening skills
  • Value added, consultative sales approach
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and follow up skills
  • Must have demonstrated abilities to manage multiple tasks with the ability to foster sales growth
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and goal setting skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Business, Marketing or related)

Relevant Experience:

  • 5+ years successful sales experience of related robotic/automation or other related technology based solutions valued >$250k.
  • Managing complex sales cycles that last 6-12+ months
  • Selling to a team often led by a technical buyer
  • Experience selling into Warehouse/Logistics industry is preferred
