Required License/Registration/Certification
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either
PTCB (
PTCE) or
NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Job Summary
The University of Kentucky Bluegrass Care Clinic (
BCC) provides
HIV care and supportive services to over 1800 people living with
HIV in Central and Eastern Kentucky. The Pharmacy Senior Technician will serve as part of the
BCC multidisciplinary team to provide medical care to Kentuckians living with
HIV. Will work directly with the
BCC
HIV clinical Pharmacist to ensure patient access to medications. Will be responsible for completing medication prior authorizations, coordinating medication refills, and assisting the clinical pharmacist with the
BCC medication adherence program. Will play a critical role in the injectable
HIV medication program by completing patient reminder, missed dose phone calls, and ensuring continued insurance coverage of injectables. Additionally, the Pharmacy Senior Technician will maintain the clinic medication inventory, allowing timely access to vaccines and sexually transmitted infection treatment.

This position requires dependability and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Associate or bachelor’s degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
