Coordinator - Operations

Job Description

The coordinator supports warehouse operations by managing all aspects of the department for which they are assigned, i.e., order pulling, packaging, and shipping and receiving. Duties within the department might include: ensuring efficient handling of customer orders, special requests, unloading, check-in and logging inbound and outbound freight, packaging of products and processing of claims and re-class returns. Give good direction, maintain morale, and follow Company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate and work closely with other department managers as a team to solve problems and ensure a smooth flow of merchandise.
  • Promptly communicate with and keep the Department Manager advised of exceptional employee performance, problems, and department activities.
  • Provide an immediate and/or timely response to all employee questions and needs.
  • Provide a timely follow up on all warehouse related inquiries, requests, reports and problems to assure customer satisfaction.
  • Always uphold the Company's integrity through personal actions and appropriate representation.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment in your area of responsibility.
  • Conducts safety audits as required.
  • Ensure that your area of responsibility is clean, neat, orderly, and presentable at all times for protection of our inventory, equipment, the morale of our employees and visiting customers.
  • Report on the job injuries timely and as required.
  • Ensure that safety procedures and policies are being followed. Always be alert to improper lifting and hazards in the workplace that can cause an accident.
  • Train and develop personnel to perform efficiently and effectively - promote and participate in training at all levels.
  • Keep accurate and timely logs.
  • Communicate and expedite over/shorts and wrong numbers to inventory control to ensure the accuracy of our inventory.
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing the warehouse as needed.
  • Perform other warehouse functions as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by General Manager, Manager, or Supervisor.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
  • 6 months prior work experience
  • Have a working knowledge of the entire warehouse.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and have the capability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, supervisors, and other will call employees
  • Possess personal drive, self-motivation, and initiative to accomplish company goals
  • Possess a willingness and ability to learn.
  • Possess analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, sometimes including weekends and holidays as required by customer business needs.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen test and routine background inquiry
  • Strong customer relationship skills
  • Ability to utilize and operate a scan gun.
  • Must be able to be certified as a forklift operator.
  • Visually capable of recognizing and distinguishing letters and numbers and their sequencing Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively.
  • Ability to work on feet (stand and walk) for entire assigned work shift.
  • Capable of lifting and moving parts and boxes up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to repeatedly bend or stoop to floor level shelves and able to reach upper shelves with use of stool or ladder when necessary.
