Job Description

The Admissions Representative is a key member of the admissions team who will help achieve the enrollment goals for Alfred State. They will build educational partnerships with students, parents, and school counselors both on and off campus concerning all aspects of Alfred State. Responsibilities include interviewing potential students and personal follow up by assisting the students through the admissions process. Participate in recruitment activities on and off campus. Review applications for admission. Involvement in on-going admissions programs and projects. Assignments will depend on the needs of the office and the talents of the individual. The primary travel territory will be New York City; travel to other areas both in and out of state may also be required. Approximately 7 weeks of travel in the fall and 2-3 weeks in the spring is expected.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage time, prioritize work, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • The ability to work as a team member as well as the confidence to work independently is expected
  • A valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • General experience in admissions or related area
  • Proficiency in Spanish and familiarity with the New York City area
  • Strong work ethic is essential
  • Creative initiative and a sense of humor are valued
